Born in Slovenia in 1972 Lara Bohinc has emerged as one of fashion's most dynamic jewellers. Fusing her meticulous architectural skills and creative vision. Lara's innovative pices are outstandingly refined and elegant. Using pure clean geometric lines juxtaposed with elegant curves and spheres in the most adorning of metails, Lara adds another dimention to jewellery creating piceds that are architecturally influenced and glamorously feminine.
Lara trained in industrial design at the Ljubijana Academy of Fine Arts and then came to London where she gained an MA in jewellery and metalwork from the Royal College of Art in 1996. In 1997 her unique, modernist approach to jewellery received recognition and she promptly won the New Generation Design Award sponsored by Marks and Spencers.
Since her 1997 debut at London Fashion Week Lara's reputation as fashion's leading cutting edge jeweller has enabled her to successfully show throughout the world. Ara has also collaborated with fashion luminaries including Gucci, Lanvin, and Julien mcDonald amoung others. Vibrantly accessorising their runway collections with her distinctive jewellery. She is currently working as a freelance consultant for Cartier International.
